On September 26, a delegation from the Selangor State Government of Malaysia and a delegation from China General Nuclear Power Group (CGN) visited the Department of Engineering Physics at Tsinghua University. Professor Li Liang, the deputy head of the Engineering Physics Department; Professor Yang Yigang, Deputy Dean of the Department of Engineering Physics at Tsinghua University and Director of TUNEM Program;Professor Yu Jiyang, Head Teacher of the TUNEM Program;Mr.Hu Zhuo, Deputy Director of the Development Center of CGN, Mr.Tang Wenzhong and Mr.Wu Peng, Senior Managers of the International Business Department of CGN, along with other relevant representatives attended the meeting. The two parties engaged in-depth discussions on key areas including talent development, scientific research collaboration, and bilateral cooperation in the energy sector between China and Malaysia.

During the meeting, Professor Li Liang first introduced the overall situation of the Department of Engineering Physics, including the faculty composition, disciplinary development, research focus areas, and achievements in international collaboration. Professor Yang Yigang provided a detailed presentation on the International Master's Program in Nuclear Power Engineering and Management (TUNEM). He emphasized that this program is designed to cultivate high-level interdisciplinary professionals for the global nuclear energy sector and further introduced the TUNEM curriculum framework, the 2026 enrollment plan, and other relevant information.

The representative of 2024 TUNEM program students from Malaysia, Rong He (Akmal Syahmi), welcomed the delegation from Selangor to visit Tsinghua University. He expressed high praise for the top academic resources provided by TUNEM, including renowned professors, advanced research facilities, and diverse learning activities. He emphasized that this experience broadened his horizons, strengthened his determination to devote himself to technological development, and expressed his gratitude for the funding and guidance from CGN.

He highly praised the international influence of the Department of Engineering Physics in the field of nuclear energy research and education. He stated that he looks forward to using this visit as an opportunity to further understand the cooperation between Malaysia and Tsinghua University in areas such as clean energy technology and joint talent cultivation, and to continue injecting new impetus for promoting the sustainable development of energy in both China and Malaysia.

Both sides conducted exchanges and discussions on the background of the TUNEM project, the training plan, student enrollment and admission, internship and practical training and other aspects.
